SSC and equivalent exams 2026 to start April 21, schedule released

The schedule for the 2026 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations has been published. According to the Dhaka Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, the exams will begin on April 21 and conclude on May 20. The examination will start with the Bangla subject, and exams will commence daily at 10:00 AM.

Practical exams will be conducted from June 7 to June 14. Educational institutions are instructed to submit handwritten answer scripts, practical answer sheets, accompanying papers, and attendance sheets organized by roll number to the Secondary Examination Branch by June 18.

The Dhaka Education Board has issued 14 important instructions for examinees. Key guidelines include:

  • Students must arrive at the exam center 30 minutes before the exam begins.

  • Exams must be conducted according to the specified duration on the question paper.

  • Multiple-choice exams will be held first, followed by creative/written (theoretical) exams; there will be no break between the two.

  • Examinees must collect admit cards from their respective institution heads seven days before the exam.

  • Marks for Physical Education, Health Science, Sports, and Career Education will be provided by the institutions at the exam centers.

  • Roll numbers, registration numbers, and subject codes must be correctly filled in OMR sheets; answer sheets must not be folded.

  • Examinees must pass the creative, multiple-choice, and practical components separately.

  • Examinees may participate only in subjects listed on their registration forms.

  • Admit cards must be collected from centers seven days before the exam.

  • Only calculators approved by the education board may be used in exams.

  • Mobile phones are prohibited at exam centers except for center secretaries.

  • The same attendance sheet must be used for all components.

  • Practical exams will be conducted at respective centers.

  • Applications for rechecking must be submitted online within seven days of results publication. Application procedures, dates, and times will be announced via board websites and media.

Examinees are required to follow the prescribed rules. The education board expects all exams to be conducted peacefully and smoothly according to the schedule.
