Proposal sent to ministry for April salary of MPO teachers and staff

The proposal for April salary and allowances of nearly 375,000 MPO-enrolled teachers and staff working in private schools and colleges has been sent to the Ministry of Education. However, as of Thursday (April 30) afternoon, final approval had not yet been received.

According to sources at the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE), after approval from the ministry, the bill will be uploaded to the iBAS system. Then the fund release process will be completed and sent through Bangladesh Bank to relevant banks, from where the salaries will be deposited into the employees’ personal accounts.

An official from DSHE, speaking anonymously, said administrative procedures are being completed quickly. It is expected that teachers and staff will receive their April salaries by the end of next week. If delayed, payments will be completed within the following few days.

Officials said that institution heads submit salary bills online every month. After verification, funds are released in coordination with the Finance Ministry and distributed through banking channels.

The government has already introduced a digital system for MPO salary payments. Officials say this has improved transparency and speed in processing salary bills.
