Educational institutions will not be allowed to collect any additional money from candidates beyond the prescribed fees for registration for the HSC and equivalent supplementary examinations. The Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers Committee has warned that legal action will be taken against institutions and their heads if they violate the directive.
The instruction was issued in a notice signed on Friday (November 6) by Professor Jesmin Taslima Banu, convener of the committee and Controller of Examinations of the Dhaka Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.
The notice said that complaints had been received through various channels alleging that educational institutions were collecting extra money from candidates in the name of registration for the HSC and equivalent supplementary examinations.
To prevent such irregularities, the Inter-Education Board Examination Controllers Committee has instructed all institutions not to charge candidates any additional fees for completing the examination registration process.
The notice also made it clear that failure to implement the decision properly would result in legal action against the concerned educational institution and its head.
The committee has urged all institutions at the HSC level to remain alert and ensure that the instructions outlined in the notice are followed accordingly.
