There was a time when global football fans were largely divided between Brazil national football team and Argentina national football team. However, this trend has changed over time, especially with Spain national football team attracting new generation fans after their golden era.
Spain dominated world football by winning Euro 2008 and 2012, along with the 2010 World Cup. However, after that, they failed to meet expectations in major tournaments.
They had disappointing performances in the 2014 and 2018 World Cups. In the 2022 Qatar World Cup, they were eliminated in the round of 16 after losing to Morocco national football team in a penalty shootout.
Now, Spain is dreaming of a comeback with a new generation team under coach Luis de la Fuente. The team has recently won the European Championship again, showing its strength.
Young stars like Lamine Yamal and Pedri are gaining attention for their performances. The team has regained momentum in attack and midfield.
Lionel Messi has also expressed optimism about Spain, saying they are one of the strong contenders for the World Cup.
The upcoming World Cup will feature 48 teams for the first time. Spain will play in Group H alongside Uruguay national football team, Saudi Arabia national football team, and Cape Verde national football team. They will begin their campaign on June 15 in Atlanta, USA against Cape Verde.
Spain has been included among the favorites in several international prediction markets, alongside England and France.
Spain has participated in the World Cup since 1934 and has won it only once in 2010. They now aim for a second title on the global stage.
