AB Party Chairman Mojibur Rahman Monju has said that if political distance between BNP and Jamaat turns into conflict, the Awami League may benefit politically.

He made this comment as the chief guest at an organizer meeting of Amar Bangladesh Party (AB Party) held in a restaurant in Chattogram on Friday.

Monju said that although BNP and Jamaat previously worked together, political distance and conflict developed at different times. He noted that disputes in educational institutions in the 1990s damaged their relationship and influenced later political developments.

He said that tensions between the two parties are again rising, and if this turns into violence or major conflict, the Awami League may gain political advantage from the situation.

He also expressed concern about the law and order situation in the country. He said instability is increasing in educational institutions and internal conflicts within the ruling party are making the situation more complicated. If these issues are not controlled quickly, the situation may deteriorate further.

Monju also commented on the police administration and state institutions. He said that there are fears of a return to allegations of using police for partisan purposes. He also said that government initiatives are insufficient to strengthen the judiciary and anti-corruption systems.

The meeting was chaired by Golam Faruk and conducted by Syed Abul Qasem. Siddiqur Rahman and other party leaders also spoke at the event.

The meeting emphasized strengthening the organization at grassroots level and provided necessary directions to party activists.
