Real Madrid secured a 2–0 victory against Valencia in a match held on Sunday at Valencia’s home ground. Álvaro Carreras and Kylian Mbappé scored in the second half to seal the win. With this result, Real Madrid moved within just one point of league leaders Barcelona in the La Liga standings.

Despite dominating possession in the first half, Real Madrid struggled to create clear scoring opportunities. Valencia goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski was rarely tested, as Madrid’s attacking chances remained limited.

The match turned in the 65th minute when Real Madrid defender Álvaro Carreras scored the opening goal. After a defensive scramble by Valencia, the ball fell to Carreras, who reacted quickly to give Madrid the lead. In stoppage time, Mbappé scored the second goal to confirm the victory.

Real Madrid coach Álvaro Arbeloa was forced to reshuffle his squad due to absences. Suspended winger Vinícius Júnior and injured players Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo, and Éder Militão were all unavailable, prompting the inclusion of several young players. Mbappé provided the only real spark in an otherwise subdued attacking performance.

Following the win, Barcelona remain top of La Liga with 58 points, while Real Madrid sit second with 57 points. Valencia, meanwhile, are in 17th place, just one point above the relegation zone.
