Experienced Bangladesh national cricket team pacer Rubel Hossain has announced his retirement from international cricket. After being out of the national team for a long time, he has now officially bid farewell to international cricket.
In a social media post on Wednesday (15 April), Rubel said that playing in the national jersey was one of the most emotional parts of his life. However, over time, he has decided to step away from international cricket.
According to his career statistics, he played 27 Test matches, 104 One Day Internationals, and 28 T20 Internationals for Bangladesh. He took 36 wickets in Test cricket. However, his performance in limited-overs cricket was more impressive. In ODIs, he took 129 wickets and established himself as an important bowler for the team.
In T20Is as well, he played regularly and took 28 wickets in 28 matches.
After announcing his retirement, Rubel said that although he is stepping away from international cricket, he wishes to continue playing domestic cricket. He also expressed gratitude to his family, friends, teammates, and fans for their support throughout his career.
