RAB Arrests 2 Accused in Separate Drives for Rape and Pornography Cases

In separate operations, RAB-14 has arrested two accused in cases under the Pornography Control Act and the Rape case from Sakhipur and Kalihati in Tangail.

The arrested individuals are Fazlu Mia (40) of Protimabanki village in Sakhipur Upazila and Mehedi Hasan Milan (30) of Tejpur Ratanganj village in Kalihati Upazila.

Major Kawsar Badhan, Commander of the 3rd Company of RAB-14, informed journalists about this at his office on Friday night (October 17, 2025).

RAB stated that on the morning of October 14, the accused Fazlu Mia (40), who is the child's alleged uncle, raped a child in Sakhipur under the pretense of taking her to school. The incident was revealed to family members when the child became ill. Following this, the child's mother filed a case under the Women and Child Repression Prevention Act at Sakhipur Police Station. Fazlu Mia, the accused in the case, was arrested from the Naluya area of Sakhipur on Friday evening.

On the other hand, Mehedi Hasan Milan (30), the main accused in a pornography case filed at Faridpur Kotwali Police Station, established a romantic relationship with a woman through social media. At one point, he cleverly recorded an objectionable 22-second video of the woman. He then blackmailed the victim by threatening to publish the video, extorting approximately 90,000 Taka at various times via bKash and Nagad. Most recently, on October 4, when he demanded another 50,000 Taka and the victim refused, Milan threatened to spread the video on social media and kidnap the victim.

Following this incident, the victim's husband filed a case under the Pornography Control Act at Faridpur Kotwali Police Station. In a joint operation by RAB-14 and the Faridpur Camp, the main accused Mehedi Hasan Milan was arrested from the Tejpur area of Kalihati on Friday afternoon.

RAB-14 Company Commander Major Kawsar Badhan also mentioned that legal action against the two arrested accused is currently underway.
