Police recovered the hanging body of a young man named Faruk Hossain from an under-construction building in Tongi, Gazipur. Law enforcement said he was one of the owners of the building.
The incident occurred early Thursday in the Gudaraghat area of Morakun Purbapara, Tongi East Police Station area. The deceased Faruk Hossain was the son of Shahabuddin from South Dharmapur village of Fulgazi Upazila in Feni. He had been living in Morakun Purbapara, Tongi.
Local sources said the seven-story building under construction in front of Baitullah Jame Mosque is owned by five brothers. Faruk was one of them and regularly supervised construction work while staying there.
Between Wednesday night around 9:30 PM and Thursday morning, his body was found hanging from a nylon rope tied to the lift wall on the sixth floor of the building. Locals informed the police, and Tongi East Police recovered the body.
Officer-in-Charge Mehedi Hasan said the body has been sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy. Investigation is ongoing to determine the exact cause of death.
