Professor Dr. Ali Riaz, co-chairman of the Consensus Commission, said that due to limited time, if consensus is not reached on certain issues, progress in drafting the national certificate will not be possible. Therefore, decisions must be made quickly, and there is no opportunity for prolonged discussions.

He made these remarks during his opening speech at a meeting with political parties at the Foreign Service Academy on Monday at 11:15 AM.

He further stated that political parties have been urged to make swift decisions within the next 10 days for the implementation of the national certificate. It was also mentioned that any dissenting opinions on issues will be noted in the certificate.

Representatives from various political parties, including BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, National Citizens Party (NCP), Ganadhikar Parishad, Ganasanghati, Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB), Revolutionary Workers Party, Amar Bangladesh (AB) Party, among others, participated in today’s discussions.

Despite the presence of unresolved issues, the Consensus Commission has called on all parties to cooperate in quickly drafting the certificate together to strengthen the country’s democratic process.
