Pahari Students Protest in Dhaka Demanding Release of Two Bawm Men

The Greater Chittagong Hill Tracts Pahari Chhatra Parishad (PCP) held a protest in Dhaka demanding unconditional release of two arrested men from the Bawm community.

The protest took place on Sunday (July 5) at the foot of the Raju Memorial Sculpture at Dhaka University.

Speakers alleged that since 2022, under anti-terror operations against KNF, many Bawm people have been detained without trial.

They claimed around 80 Bawm individuals are currently in prison. They also alleged custodial deaths of three community members.

No official response from law enforcement or government authorities was available at the time of reporting.
