Court Orders Arrest Show for Former MP Afzal Hossain in Explosives Case

A Dhaka court has ordered to show arrested former MP Afzal Hossain in an explosives case filed at Shahbagh Police Station.
The order was issued on Monday (July 6) by a Metropolitan Magistrate after an investigation officer’s request.
The case relates to the April 4, 2023 massive fire at Bangabazar market causing damages worth around 50 billion BDT.
Afzal Hossain is among 17 named accused, along with 20–30 unidentified individuals.
Police said investigation is ongoing.
