Person Missing in Dudhkumar River, Kurigram While Trying to Catch Floating Logs

In Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram, a man named Monsur Ali has gone missing after drowning while trying to catch floating logs in the Dudhkumar River. The incident occurred on Monday morning (6 October) in the Khelar Bhita area of Berubari Union.

The missing Monsur Ali (45) was a resident of Khamaar Nokula area, Ward No. 8 of Berubari Union. He was a paddy trader.

Former Union Chairman Mominur Rahman stated that Monsur Ali went into the river to collect logs and wood floating downstream. Due to the strong current, he drowned. Locals tried to rescue him but failed and then informed the Fire Service.

OC of Nageshwari Police Station, Rezaul Karim, said that upon receiving the news, the Fire Service’s diver team has started the rescue operation. The search and rescue efforts are still ongoing at the site.
