One Dead in a Horrific Road Accident in Sirajdikhan, Munshiganj

A tragic road accident occurred on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway at Nimtala in Sirajdikhan Upazila, Munshiganj, resulting in one death and seven injuries. Among the injured, three are reported to be in critical condition. The accident took place on Sunday (August 10) around 9:45 PM in the Dhaka-bound lane.

According to police and fire service sources, a passenger bus from Hanif Paribahan collided forcefully with the rear of a stationary truck at Nimtala. One unidentified person died on the spot. The seven injured were promptly rescued and taken to a nearby hospital.

Upon receiving the news, personnel from Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations. Mohammad Safikul Islam, Deputy Assistant Director of Munshiganj Fire Service, confirmed the incident.

Abdul Qader Jilani, Officer-in-Charge of Hasara Highway Police, said that the damaged bus and truck were removed with the help of a wrecker. Traffic was temporarily disrupted but later returned to normal. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased individual.
