The government has compulsorily retired nine officers holding the rank of Police Inspector (Unarmed) from government service. This decision was announced on Sunday (August 10) through separate notifications issued by the Public Security Division of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
According to sources, the retired officers have previously served as Officer-in-Charge (OC) at various police stations. They have been retired in the public interest under Section 45 of the Government Service Act.
The officers who have been compulsorily retired are: Police Inspector Shikdar Md. Shamim Hossain of Bogura APBN-4, Abdul Latif of the CID Control Room, SM Kamruzzaman of Narayanganj Reserve Office, A. Kuddus Fakir of CID Narsingdi, Mamun Or Rashid of Munshiganj and Padma Bridge Zone Tourist Police, Nurul Islam of CID Moulvibazar, Md. Kamal Hossain of the Jamuna Bridge-East Naval Police Outpost, Md. Selimuzzaman of Kulaura Railway Police Station, and Abu Bakr Siddiq of Tangail Madhupur Circle.
The notification states that the retirement has been granted in the public interest as per the provisions of the Government Service Act, and the officers will receive all retirement benefits according to the rules. The decision is effective immediately.
