New details have emerged regarding the stabbing murder of journalist Asaduzzaman Tuhin in Gazipur. Contrary to initial assumptions, police reviewing CCTV footage have revealed that the primary cause behind the killing was a conflict involving women.

Robiul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (ADC) of Gazipur Metropolitan Police, stated that on Thursday evening at Chandana Crossroad, Tuhin was recording a video on his mobile of a woman being assaulted. After the attackers pressured him to delete the video, Tuhin tried to leave the scene, but they followed him and stabbed him with a sharp weapon at a tea shop, killing him.

The police have identified suspects involved in the incident and are conducting active operations to arrest them, though no one has been detained yet.

The victim’s body has been kept in the morgue for post-mortem. The funeral prayers will be held after Friday prayers before handing over the body to the family.
