The meeting took place on Monday afternoon at the ambassador’s residence in the capital, where extensive discussions were held on the current political situation in the country and the upcoming national parliamentary elections.
According to NCP sources, the party delegation included Convenor Nahid Islam, Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Zara, and Joint Member Secretary Alauddin Mohammad. Representing the US Embassy were the ambassador herself, Political and Economic Counselor Eric Gillan, Political Officer James Stewart, and Political Specialist Firoz Ahmed.
The discussions covered recent political developments, law and order conditions, outlines of political reforms, and issues related to the July declaration. It was also noted that the NCP’s march program in July attracted significant public participation across nearly all districts of the country.
