Manchester City Targeting Real’s Rodrygo to Fill Attacking Void

Manchester City are exploring the possibility of signing Real Madrid’s Brazilian forward Rodrygo as they look to fill a potential gap in their attack. With three weeks still remaining before the transfer window closes, the departure of several attacking players from the squad has either been confirmed or is looking increasingly likely.

According to reports, City have finalised an agreement to loan Jack Grealish to Everton. At the same time, Savinho could also be on his way out following interest from Tottenham Hotspur. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are on the verge of signing midfielder James McAtee for £20 million ($26.9 million). If these three departures go through, City would be left with both a hole in attack and enough funds to make new signings.

Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has reported that Rodrygo is City coach Pep Guardiola’s “dream” target, and the Premier League champions could make a bold move before the transfer window closes.

Real Madrid have already told Rodrygo that he may leave the club if a suitable offer arrives. A transfer fee of €100 million (£86.7 million, $116.5 million) has been set, although it is believed that the figure could be lowered if the player himself requests a move.

However, Rodrygo’s response to City’s interest will be the key factor. In the past, he has rejected offers from other Premier League clubs and expressed his desire to stay in Madrid and fight for his future. Despite his deep emotional attachment to the club, his limited playing time under coach Xabi Alonso at the Club World Cup has made him aware that staying at the Santiago Bernabéu will be a significant challenge.

City have not yet made a formal offer for the 24-year-old forward, but they are likely to proceed with such a costly deal only if Rodrygo expresses a genuine interest in joining the Etihad.
