Brazilian forward Vinícius Júnior once again drew attention with a brilliant performance against Haiti, contributing not only a goal but also creating multiple chances for teammates. His overall impact played a key role in Brazil’s victory, earning him the Man of the Match award.
In the match held in Philadelphia, Vinícius opened the scoring in first-half stoppage time. He controlled a precise pass from midfield, bypassed the opposition defense, and calmly finished to put Brazil ahead before halftime.
After the match, Vinícius spoke about his performance and personal preferences. When asked about receiving a beer as the Man of the Match award, he jokingly said he does not drink alcohol. Instead, he prefers eating rice, beans, French fries, and meat when spending time with friends.
He also praised teammate Matheus Cunha, stating that Cunha played his role effectively and strengthened Brazil’s attacking structure with his hard work and goal-scoring ability.
Vinícius further reflected on Brazil’s mentality after their opening match disappointment, saying the team looked more confident and relaxed in the second game, which helped them play their natural style.
Regarding his playing position, he said he is most comfortable on the wing but can also play centrally when required by the coach’s plan. He added humorously that he often scores more goals when playing in the middle, suggesting he may feature there more in the future.
With strong performances, creativity, and growing confidence, Brazil’s camp is optimistic about upcoming matches.
