Indian teenage cricketer Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who has recently been in the spotlight for his batting performances, has now made headlines for an unfortunate incident on the field during a tri-nation series against Sri Lanka.

In a thrilling match in Dambulla, India scored 265 runs batting first. Sri Lanka also scored 265 runs, forcing a Super Over.

In the Super Over, Sri Lanka set a target of 16 runs. India, chasing the target, managed only 9 runs and lost the match by 7 runs.

Tensions escalated after the match. While leaving the field, Sri Lankan players Bhanuka Halmage and Wanindu Sahaan were seen exchanging words with Indian batters Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Suryansh Shegde. Reports suggest that Halmage made a comment directed at Suryavanshi, which the young batter found provocative.

In response, an angry Suryavanshi allegedly returned and pushed Halmage. Sri Lankan players reacted immediately, but teammates quickly intervened and calmed the situation. Wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella played a key role in controlling the situation.

Suryavanshi was also seen expressing frustration while leaving the field. The incident has sparked widespread discussion on social media. However, no official statement has yet been issued by either team.

Cricket analysts say that while aggression is part of the sport, young players are expected to maintain discipline, making this post-match incident a matter of concern.
