At 10:15 am, NCP chief coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, senior joint secretary Tasnim Zara, and chief organizer (Southern Region) Hasnat Abdullah visited the hospital to check on her condition and speak with family members.
Earlier, at 8:45 am, central joint secretary Junayed Al Habib and other Hefazat leaders left the hospital after offering prayers for her recovery and urging the public to pray.
Khaleda Zia is currently suffering from lung infection, pneumonia, kidney and liver complications, arthritis, diabetes, and other old illnesses. Doctors said treating one disease affects another, making her overall condition extremely critical.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir described her condition on Friday as “extremely critical” and said there was no improvement over the last two days. Doctors are considering sending her to Singapore if necessary.
Professor Muhammad Yunus, chief advisor of the interim government, also expressed deep concern over her deteriorating health and requested public prayers.
Her son and BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman thanked the public for their prayers and support, calling it their greatest strength for her recovery.
