Bangladesh Khilafat Majlis Ameer Maulana Mamunul Haque has said that the ongoing movement demanding implementation of the July Charter and constitutional reforms will be strengthened based on the verdict of the referendum.
He said party leaders and activists must remain responsible and cautious so that no statement, decision, or political activity weakens the ongoing movement or creates divisions among people.
Mamunul Haque made the remarks while addressing the third session of the party’s central Majlis-e-Shura for the 2025-26 session held at the Engineers Institution Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium in Ramna, Dhaka, on Saturday.
The session was presided over by Mamunul Haque and conducted by the party’s Secretary General Maulana Jalaluddin Ahmed.
Speaking about local government elections, the Khilafat Majlis chief said preparations should begin immediately for upcoming local government polls. He emphasized selecting honest, capable, skilled, and public-oriented candidates while strengthening the organization from the grassroots level.
During the session, the party adopted a nine-point proposal.
The proposals included demands for restoring the phrase “full trust and faith in Allah” in the Constitution and introducing constitutional provisions declaring laws and policies contrary to the Quran and Sunnah invalid.
The party also demanded legislation with capital punishment provisions for insulting Allah, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and Islam, along with immediate implementation of the July Charter and referendum verdict.
The session also adopted proposals on international issues, including calls for ending the ongoing genocide in Gaza, recognizing an independent Palestinian state, and urging the international community to take effective steps to stop alleged oppression of Muslims in India.
The party condemned attacks on political programs in different parts of the country, including Habiganj, and demanded the arrest and trial of those responsible. It also called for ensuring constitutional rights to conduct peaceful political activities.
Central leaders including Maulana Akram Ali, Maulana Rezaul Karim Jalali, Maulana Ali Usman, Mufti Saeed Noor, and Maulana Qurban Ali Qasemi attended the session and delivered speeches.
