Inquilab Munch has demanded the immediate arrest and trial of those responsible for the shooting of Sharif Osman Hadi. The organization gave the interim government a 24-hour ultimatum. It also announced a protest program at Shahbagh on Saturday at noon.
Speaking to journalists Friday night, Abdullah Al Jaber said the attack was premeditated, and the government’s negligence in identifying the perpetrators is unacceptable. He warned that if the criminals are not caught within 24 hours, Inquilab Munch will escalate its actions.
He further said the government would be responsible if Hadi’s condition deteriorates. Doctors have stated that Hadi is still not out of danger, and he may need to be sent abroad for advanced treatment if necessary.
Earlier, three advisers of the interim government visited Evercare Hospital to check on Hadi, along with leaders and activists from various political parties.
Hadi announced his candidacy as an independent from Dhaka-8 and was shot on Friday afternoon while campaigning in Bijoynagar, Dhaka.
The incident has sparked intense political reactions, with multiple parties and organizations condemning the attack and calling for swift justice.
