“I will choose myself”: Litton confident about captaincy

Bangladesh national cricket team T20 captain Litton Das has shown strong confidence in himself as a leader. In a recent podcast, when comparing himself with Bangladesh’s successful captains, he placed himself ahead.

In a Bangladesh Cricket Board podcast program, Litton was asked whom he would choose as the better captain if he had to pick between himself and Shakib Al Hasan. In response, Litton said that although it was a difficult question, he would choose himself.

In the next question, when comparing Tamim Iqbal and Litton, he said he is ahead in terms of records. Similarly, in comparisons with Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mehidy Hasan Miraz, he also placed himself ahead.

At one point in the program, the host commented that such confidence is needed for the team. In response, Litton expressed trust in his performance and captaincy record.

Litton also spoke about Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, one of Bangladesh’s most successful captains. He said he played under Mashrafe for a long time and observed his leadership closely. However, he also said that based on his own captaincy record, he considers himself ahead.

Litton said that his leadership statistics across formats are good, which is why he made such comments. However, he admitted that this may create debate.

Currently, Bangladesh cricket team has three different captains for three formats. Analysts believe that under Litton’s leadership in T20s, the team is undergoing a rebuilding process.
