Rashed Khan, General Secretary of Gana Adhikar Parishad, has demanded the resignation of the interim government’s Home Affairs Adviser, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Mohammad Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. He stated, “You have no moral right to remain in your position. If you have any sense of shame, apologize and resign.”

He made this demand on Saturday while visiting the injured president, Nurul Haque, at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Rashed Khan alleged that during the clash in Kakrail, Dhaka, on Friday evening, some members of the law enforcement and military directly participated in the attack. “The assault on us was planned. Under whose orders did the military take to the streets and attack us? The Army Chief must investigate and take action,” he said.

He also clarified that the individual in the viral red shirt circulating on social media has no connection with the attack on Nurul Haque. According to him, that person attacked Samrat, a central leader of Chhatra Adhikar Parishad.

Meanwhile, Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman, Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed that Nurul Haque has suffered a serious head injury and a fractured nose. A special medical board has been formed to oversee his treatment.

It is worth noting that after the clash between Jatiya Party (Japa) and Gana Adhikar Parishad on Friday evening, several leaders and activists, including Nurul Haque, were injured by police baton charges. In response, Gana Adhikar Parishad has been conducting continuous protest programs.
