The long-anticipated Federation Cup final has finally resolved its scheduling complications. The title-deciding match between Mohammedan Sporting Club and Bashundhara Kings, which was scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed by one day and will now be held on Wednesday, following a decision by the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF).

The decision was taken in an emergency executive meeting of the Bangladesh Football Federation on Tuesday morning. The final will be held at Bashundhara Kings’ home venue, Kings Arena.

Since reaching the final, Mohammedan Sporting Club had been objecting to playing at Kings Arena. The club argued that holding the final at the opponent’s home ground could raise questions about neutrality. In this situation, a meeting was held on Monday between representatives of both clubs under BFF President Tabith Awal. However, Mohammedan remained firm in its position even during the meeting.

Later, Mohammedan agreed to play at Kings Arena under certain conditions. Mohammedan Director-in-Charge Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan stated that the BFF must provide written assurance of a fair and neutral match. Additionally, the hosting club Bashundhara Kings must also provide official assurances regarding security and match environment.

He further said they had requested the match be postponed by one day, and BFF accepted that request.

On the other hand, Bashundhara Kings wrote to the BFF suggesting that instead of holding the final, the trophy could be awarded directly to Mohammedan. However, no official decision has been taken regarding this.

Finally, with the agreement of both teams, the Federation Cup final will be held on Wednesday. Football fans are already showing huge excitement surrounding the match.
