Hollywood actress Amy Schumer has once again spoken openly about her health crisis. In a recent live show, she revealed that her health deteriorated after a botched colonoscopy procedure. She also shared her experience of being diagnosed with Cushing’s syndrome, rapid weight loss, and going through a mentally difficult period.
Amy Schumer participated in a live episode of the podcast “Not Skinny But Not Fat” on May 17. When the host commented on her physical transformation, the actress humorously said, “My colonoscopy wasn’t done properly. So I don’t really feel normal or attractive right now.”
Although she did not provide detailed information about the complication, she joked, “At least I don’t have to think about it for the next 15 years.”
She also said that despite health issues, she is now mentally better than before. In her words, “I feel happier now than at any other time in my life.”
At the beginning of 2024, many people on social media noticed that Amy Schumer’s face had become unusually swollen. This led to widespread discussion, after which she consulted doctors.
Later, doctors diagnosed her with Cushing’s syndrome. It is a hormonal disorder in which excess cortisol is produced in the body. The actress claimed that this condition developed due to repeated steroid injections.
After recovering from Cushing’s syndrome, she lost around 50 pounds. However, she said she did it for her health, not for beauty.
In a social media post in December, she wrote: “I didn’t lose weight to look beautiful, I did it to survive.”
She further stated that she now feels much less pain and healthier than before.
Amy Schumer has never hidden her physical changes. She admitted to using a weight-loss medication called “Mounjaro.” She also had plastic surgery in the past. However, she stated that she no longer uses Botox or fillers.
Alongside her health issues, she is also going through major changes in her personal life. In December, she announced that she had ended her seven-year marriage with husband Chris Fischer. However, both of them have said they will prioritize caring for their child even after separation.
