An egg-throwing incident targeted NCP General Secretary Akhtar Hossain at John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, United States. Eyewitnesses reported that local Awami League leader Mizanur Rahman was seen throwing the eggs.

The incident occurred around 5:00 PM local time on September 22, as Akhtar Hossain was exiting Terminal 4 of the airport. Accompanying him were BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and NCP Senior Joint Secretary Tasnim Zara. Local Awami League leaders, activists, and supporters allegedly engaged in protests and taunts during the incident.

Habibur Rahman, an airport official and eyewitness, stated that two eggs hit Akhtar Hossain on his back consecutively. He reportedly did not react and continued walking.

Even after boarding his vehicle, Awami League leaders, activists, and supporters lay in front of the car shouting slogans such as “Joy Bangla.” The New York Police intervened to manage the situation.

It is noted that Akhtar Hossain had traveled to New York accompanying Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the Caretaker Government. The NCP leader has demanded legal action against the local Awami League leaders, activists, and supporters involved in the incident.
