DU Medical Center Modernization: Joint Project by TIKA and DUCSU

The Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU), in collaboration with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA), is implementing a project worth nearly BDT 2.75 crore to modernize Dhaka University’s Medical Center.

On Wednesday (October 8) afternoon, a meeting was held at TIKA’s office in Baridhara between the DUCSU representative team and TIKA’s Bangladesh Country Coordinator Mohammad Ali Arman. During the meeting, both parties discussed various initiatives, including modernizing the university medical center, establishing first-aid facilities, a model pharmacy, a wellness garden, noise-free zones, and providing free medical care and medicines for students.

Under the project, the hospital is undergoing a full renovation, including the installation of a new ambulance, X-ray and ECG machines, air conditioners, hospital beds, cupboards, desks, and other modern equipment. Significant progress is expected within the next month.

Present at the meeting from DUCSU were Vice President Sadiq Qayem, Literature and Culture Secretary Musaddiq Ali Ibn Muhammad, International Secretary Khan Jasim, Health and Environment Secretary Abdullah Al Minhaj, and other members. Both TIKA’s Country Coordinator Mohammad Ali Arman and the DUCSU team expressed optimism about continuing future collaboration.
