An allegation has surfaced that a disabled housewife in Nasirnagar, Brahmanbaria, was gang-raped by three teenagers who lured her away under the false pretext of goat theft. This tragic incident occurred on October 2. Immediately after the incident, the police launched an operation, arrested the three accused teenagers, and sent them to jail through the court.
According to Nasirnagar Police Station sources, the housewife suffers from physical disabilities, including visual impairment. On the day of the incident, the three accused teenagers told the housewife, "Your goat has been stolen. You have to come with us to get the goat back." Believing them, she went with the teenagers. They then took her to Lichu Mia's pond-side where the teenagers raped her in turns and threatened her not to disclose the incident to anyone.
A day after the rape, on October 3, the victim revealed the entire incident to her mother. The victim's mother immediately filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act at Nasirnagar Police Station. Taking the case into consideration, the police conducted a raid on the night of October 4 and arrested the three accused teenagers.
Nasirnagar Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Maksud Ahammed, confirmed the veracity of the incident, stating that the accused have confessed to the crime during initial questioning. Their statements will be recorded under Section 164 through the court.
The rescued housewife has been sent for a medical examination and for her statement to be recorded under Section 22.
The victim's disabled mother expressed her helplessness, stating that her daughter's husband had left her a month after their marriage for dowry, and the daughter had been living with her since then. In this situation, she has sought justice for the brutal act of the three people and is worried about her daughter. Conversely, the families of the accused teenagers claim that their sons are in no way involved with the incident.
