The Brazil national football team, which has long been deprived of winning the World Cup, is once again not viewed optimistically by most of its people. A recent public opinion survey shows that about 68 percent of Brazilians believe their team will not be able to win the upcoming World Cup.

Since winning the World Cup in 2002, the five-time world champions have not lifted the trophy again. The next edition is set to begin on June 11 in the United States, but even before that, a lack of expectation among supporters is clearly visible.

In a survey conducted by a leading Brazilian media outlet, only 29 percent of respondents believe that the team under the current coach can win the World Cup this time. On the other hand, some people did not express a clear opinion.

The survey also showed divided opinions regarding the return of star footballer Neymar to the national team. About 47 percent supported his return, while 45 percent opposed it. The rest remained neutral.

In addition, public interest in the World Cup has also declined compared to previous years. More than half of the respondents said they do not feel much excitement about this tournament. Only a small number of people reported feeling great enthusiasm.

Analysts say that repeated failures in recent years and inability to meet expectations have created a lack of trust among supporters. How the team performs in the upcoming World Cup remains to be seen.
