The BNP is continuing its second-day interview process to select party candidates for reserved women seats in the 13th National Parliament.
The process began at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Dhaka at around 3:45 PM on Saturday (April 18).
The interview is being conducted under the leadership of party chairperson Tarique Rahman. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and standing committee members are present.
According to party sources, emphasis is being placed on activism, organizational skills, and contribution to the party.
Candidates from Chattogram, Sylhet, Comilla, and Mymensingh divisions were interviewed on the second day.
The Election Commission has announced the schedule for reserved seats elections, with voting set for May 12. Nomination submission deadline is April 21 and withdrawal deadline is April 29.
BNP-led alliance is expected to get 36 seats, Jamaat alliance 13 seats, and one seat for independents.
Crowds of candidates and supporters created a busy atmosphere at Gulshan office.
