An 11-party alliance led by Jamaat-e-Islami held a rally in Dhaka demanding referendum implementation, resolution of fuel crisis, and control of rising prices.
At the rally in Bijoynagar, senior Jamaat leader ATM Azharul Islam criticized the government, saying promises made before elections have not been fulfilled.
He said fuel shortages are affecting daily life, with people waiting long hours at petrol pumps. He also mentioned rising extortion and instability.
Other leaders also expressed concern over inflation and economic conditions, urging government action.
The rally ended with a procession through Nightingale Mor, Kakrail, and Shantinagar.
