College Student Stabbed to Death by Robbers in Tongi; 4 Robbers Arrested

A 20-year-old college student, Jihad, was stabbed to death by robbers in Tongi, Gazipur. The incident occurred late at night on Sunday (October 19) on Shafiuddin Road under Tongi West Police Station in the Auchpara area.

The deceased, Jihad, was the son of Jahangir Alam from Auchpara, Tongi, and a student at Brahmanbaria Polytechnic Institute. His permanent residence is in Vangnahati village of Sreepur municipality, Gazipur.

According to police, Jihad left his home around 11 p.m. with 3,000 taka. At that time, four robbers intercepted him on Shafiuddin Sarkar Academy Road in Auchpara, Tongi, attempting to snatch his money. When Jihad resisted, the assailants stabbed him multiple times, leaving him critically injured. Local residents rushed him to the hospital, but he died on the way.

Following the incident, police arrested four suspects from Ershad Nagar, Tongi, around 1:30 a.m. The arrested are Abdullah (20), Swadhin (20), and Alamin (24), all residents of Ershad Nagar, Tongi. The identity of the fourth suspect is currently unknown.

Tongi West Police Station ASI Jahirul Islam told Jugantor, “Four robbers have been arrested in connection with the murder of college student Jihad.”
