The conflict erupted between local residents Abdul Motlib and his cousin Kadir Mia. According to local sources, a long-standing dispute existed between the two families over the boundary of their homestead land. The feud escalated recently when wastewater from Kadir Mia’s cow shed flowed into Abdul Motlib’s property, prompting Motlib to block the drainage. What began as a verbal altercation soon turned into a violent clash with sticks and rods.

Of them, 15 with serious injuries were sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, while others received primary treatment at the Nabiganj Upazila Health Complex.
