Clothing Factory Burns Down in Tongi After Fire from Laser Cutting Machine

A fire broke out on Monday morning (6 October) at around 10 a.m. at a clothing factory named “Satyoranjan & Roni Cutting Center” in Tongi, Gazipur, reducing the facility to ashes.

No casualties or injuries have been reported. Locals said that after the fire suddenly erupted, the Fire Service was informed. Upon receiving the report, three units of the Tongi Fire Service rushed to the site and brought the fire under control after about an hour of effort.

Senior officer of the Fire Service, Md. Shahin Alam, said, “It is initially believed that the fire started from a laser cutting machine. Rolls of fabric, cut fabric, furniture, and machinery stored in the factory were burned. The extent of the damage will be determined after investigation.”
