A five-member Chinese emergency medical team is arriving in Dhaka this evening to provide care for those injured in the recent plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, Dhaka. The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka confirmed the information in a press release.
According to the statement, the team—comprising burn specialist doctors and nurses—is coming at the request of Bangladesh’s interim government. Upon arrival, they will visit the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery to offer necessary support and conduct evaluations.
Earlier, an emergency video consultation was held between Bangladeshi and Chinese medical professionals. This morning, at Bangladesh’s request, experts from the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University in China’s Yunnan Province held a discussion with doctors from Bangladesh’s National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Specialists in burn treatment, plastic surgery, pediatric nephrology, and respiratory care participated in the consultation. The two countries’ doctors jointly assessed the condition of patients critically injured in the recent military aircraft accident and discussed appropriate treatment plans.
