3 killed, 10 injured in bus accident on Dhaka-Khulna highway in Faridpur

Faridpur, July 24, 2025:
Three people were killed and at least 10 others injured in a head-on collision between two passenger buses this Thursday morning on the Dhaka-Khulna highway in the Koshagopalpur area of Kanaipur Union under Faridpur Sadar Upazila.

The accident occurred around 10:00 AM. According to the Karimpur Highway Police, the collision took place near the Abul Hossain Filling Station between a Dhaka-bound bus of Royal Express coming from Chuadanga and a Magura-bound bus of Rick Enterprise coming from Faridpur. Three passengers of the Rick Enterprise bus died on the spot. Between 8 to 10 passengers from both buses sustained injuries.

The injured and the deceased were taken to Faridpur Medical College Hospital. The identities of the victims have not been confirmed yet.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karimpur Highway Police Station, Salauddin Chowdhury, informed at 10:30 AM that both buses involved in the accident have been removed from the road and traffic flow has returned to normal. Police are working to identify the deceased.
