Professor Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, will hold meetings with seven more political parties tomorrow, Tuesday. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the state guesthouse Jamuna at 5:00 PM, according to a statement from the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing on Monday.

Earlier, on Sunday, the Chief Adviser held meetings with leaders of the BNP, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and the National Citizens Party (NCP). However, no consensus was reached on national elections and political reforms during those discussions. The BNP, Jamaat, and NCP reiterated their previous positions.

Professor Yunus clearly stated in the meeting that the national election will be held in the first half of February. He emphasized, “There is no alternative to the election. Trying to avoid the election or seeking another path will bring grave danger to the nation.”

Meanwhile, tension arose following clashes between the National Party and Ganadhikar Parishad leaders on Friday night, during which Nurul Haque Nur was injured in a baton charge by the army and police. Nearly all political parties and the interim government condemned the incident.

To address the situation, a judicial investigation was decided in an interim government meeting held on Saturday, presided over by Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus.
