Following the shooting of Inquilab Munch leader Sharif Osman Hadi, Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus held a meeting with top leaders of BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and National Citizens Party (NCP). He warned about conspiracy to disrupt the elections and urged the parties to remain united.
The meeting took place on Saturday at the state guesthouse, Jamuna. Observers consider this meeting significant as it occurred a day after Hadi, the potential independent candidate for Dhaka-8, was attacked.
The Chief Adviser described the attack as premeditated and part of a deeper conspiracy, calling it a “symbolic warning.” The meeting included political leaders from BNP, Jamaat, NCP, legal advisers, and Inquilab Munch officials.
He also warned parties to avoid internal conflicts, emphasizing national interest above party interest. Leaders at the meeting pledged to maintain unity.
