Burglary at the rural home of shot Sharif Osman Hadi in Jhalokathi amid life-threatening condition

While Inquilab Munch spokesperson and Dhaka-8 independent parliamentary candidate Sharif Osman Hadi was critically injured and receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka, a burglary took place at his rural home in Nolchiti, Jhalokathi. His relatives confirmed the incident happened Friday night.

Hadi’s cousin, Sirajul Islam, stated that the burglars entered the house through a broken window while no one was home. The exact value of the stolen items is not immediately known.

Nolchiti Thana Officer-in-Charge Ariful Alam said the police inspected the scene and are trying to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.

Earlier on Friday, Hadi was shot while campaigning in Bijoynagar, Dhaka, after Friday prayers. He was first taken to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital at 2:35 PM and later transferred to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment. His condition remains critical and he is on life support.

The shooting and subsequent burglary at his rural home have caused deep concern among his family and supporters.
