Businessman Imran Munsi Shot Dead in Khulna

A businessman named Imran Munsi (35) was shot dead in the head at gunpoint in Khulna’s 2 No. Customghat area. The shocking incident occurred around 8:00 PM on Monday. Upon receiving the news, senior police officials quickly visited the scene.

The deceased, Imran Munsi, was the son of Babul Munsi and a resident of Munshipara, Second Lane. He was involved in the brick and sand business. However, a police source confirmed that Imran was an active member of the gang led by Khulna’s top criminal, Grenade Babu.

According to police and local sources, Imran was heading towards the New Market around 7:45 PM. Three young men on a motorcycle intercepted him along the way. They then aimed a pistol at his head and shot him with the intent to kill. Locals rushed him to Khulna Medical College Hospital in critical condition, but he had already succumbed to his injuries.

SI Abdul Hai of Khulna Police Station told reporters that Imran Munsi was an active member of Grenade Babu’s gang. Preliminary investigations indicate that members of another top criminal group, the Palash group, carried out the murder. The perpetrators fled the scene on the motorcycle towards the police line immediately after the attack.

The SI added, “We have launched operations to apprehend those involved in this incident and are trying to collect video footage from various locations to uncover the mystery behind the crime.” It is believed that the murder was motivated by an old criminal rivalry or a struggle for dominance.
