Bangladesh to take the field against India under Zakir’s captaincy in Liton’s absence

In the Asia Cup Super Four clash between India and Bangladesh, the Bangladesh team has made four changes from their previous match. With Liton Das ruled out due to injury, opener Parvez Hossain has returned to the squad. In addition, Tanzim Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Rishad Hossain have also been included.

As a result of these changes, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, and Mehidy Hasan have been left out. The new playing XI is: Saif Hasan, Tanzid Hasan, Parvez Hossain, Towhid Hridoy, captain Zakir Ali, Shamim Hossain, Rishad Hossain, Nasum Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, and Mustafizur Rahman.

Ahead of the match, Bangladesh’s stand-in captain Zakir Ali won the toss and chose to field. He stated that Bangladesh prefers to chase runs and that the pitch looks favorable for batting. He also mentioned that Liton Das’s absence due to injury presents a new challenge for the team.

During the warm-up session before the match, Zakir Ali was seen returning early to the dressing room after completing his preparations. He will represent Bangladesh at the toss against India in place of Liton. Liton Das, meanwhile, was seen with physiotherapist Baizidul Islam and did not take part in wicketkeeping drills due to his rib injury.

This T20 encounter between Bangladesh and India marks their first meeting since October 2024. Cricket fans are eagerly anticipating the performance of both teams.
