Youth shot in front of Registry Office in Khulna, police launch investigation

A youth was shot in front of the city’s registry office in Khulna on Wednesday at 6:50 pm. Police reported that weapons, bullets, and a magazine were recovered from the scene.

The injured youth, Onik, is the son of Montu Das from the local Kalibari area. He was rushed to the hospital, and doctors have said his condition is stable.

Khulna Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge Shafiqul Islam said, “Around 6:30 in the evening, a heated argument broke out between two young men. At one point, one of them pulled a pistol from his waist and shot the other. The injured youth collapsed on the road, and when locals rushed forward, the attacker dropped his weapon and quickly fled the scene.”

Police have inspected the location and initiated an investigation. CCTV footage from the area is being collected, and efforts are underway to track down the suspects.

Locals stated that such violent incidents have created panic in the area, urging police to take swift action.
