The Bangladesh Shishu Hospital and Institute in Dhaka has canceled the appointment of 65 medical officers following allegations of irregularities in the recruitment process.
The hospital's director, Professor Dr. Mahbubul Alam, confirmed the decision at 3 PM on Sunday (July 20). He stated that the previous recruitment process has been scrapped and that a new, fully transparent recruitment process will be conducted through a fresh public notice.
The controversial appointments recently sparked widespread criticism among medical professionals and on social media. Many questioned the transparency of the recruitment and called for an investigation and reappointment.
According to officials, the decision to cancel the appointments was made after considering the overall situation. The institution has said a new recruitment notice will be issued soon.
