Arson attack on a parked bus in Dhamrai, Dhaka

In Dhamrai, a passenger bus parked by the roadside was set on fire by miscreants at night. Fortunately, there were no casualties as the bus was unoccupied.

The incident occurred around midnight on the regional road connecting Suapur Union’s Suapur-Khardarchar area. Sub-Officer Shamsul Haque of Dhamrai Fire Service said the bus was parked by the roadside when locals noticed smoke and flames and informed the driver. The driver and bystanders managed to extinguish the fire using water and sand before the fire service arrived.

He added that the bus’s front section was damaged, but no one was injured. The driver claimed the fire was intentional, not caused by any electrical fault. The bus owner estimated the damage at around 300,000 BDT, including seats and interior parts. Police and fire service are investigating the cause of the arson.
