In the English Premier League, Arsenal secured an important 1-0 victory at home against Brighton & Hove Albion, further solidifying their position at the top.

The only goal came in the ninth minute when Bukayo Saka’s shot from the right flank deflected off an opposing defender into the net. Arsenal maintained control and attacking dominance throughout, while Brighton created a few chances but failed to equalize.

With this win, Arsenal’s points tally reached 67 after 30 matches. Meanwhile, Manchester City drew 2-2 with Nottingham Forest at home, keeping the gap between the top teams at seven points. The two teams will face each other on City’s ground on April 19.

After the match, Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta praised his team’s resilience against a tough opponent. City coach Pep Guardiola noted that many matches remain in the league and they are focusing on the next match. Forest twice led but City managed to prevent a win.

The top five race also saw drama. Manchester United lost their first match under interim coach Michael Carrick. Ten-man Newcastle United were defeated 2-1.

Meanwhile, Chelsea beat Aston Villa 4-1, with Joao Pedro’s hat-trick helping Chelsea move ahead of Liverpool to fifth place.

Relegation battles are intensifying. Nottingham Forest earned vital points from a draw, and West Ham United, with the same points, is temporarily in a safe position. Tottenham Hotspur will play a crucial match against Crystal Palace on Thursday.
