In the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarterfinal, FC Barcelona Femení defeated their arch-rivals Real Madrid Femenino by a huge margin to advance to the semifinals. In the second leg, they won 6-0, leading to a 12-2 aggregate victory, securing a spot in the final four for the current champions.

Barcelona dominated the match from the start. Captain Alexia Putellas opened the scoring within 8 minutes. She also reached a milestone by scoring in her 500th career match.

Barcelona kept the pressure on Real’s defense with successive attacks. Caroline Graham Hansen scored twice. Other goals came from Irene Paredes, Yui Pazar, and Esmee Brugts, ensuring a comprehensive victory for the Catalans.

Statistics indicate Barcelona’s dominance in the Women’s El Clasico. Out of 25 head-to-head matches, they have won 24. In the last three matches alone, Barcelona scored 15 goals against Real, highlighting the difference in strength between the two teams.

With this victory, Barcelona reached the semifinals for the eighth consecutive time. Their next opponent will be German club Bayern Munich Women. Although they have previously won big against Bayern, the semifinals are expected to be more challenging.

After the match, captain Putellas was emotionally overwhelmed by fans’ support. She stated that the love of supporters inspires the team, and they want to continue their success with that support.
