Brazilian star forward Neymar is going through a difficult period. Due to injuries, irregular playing time, and inconsistent performance, he is struggling to prove himself. Amidst this, a new setback has emerged—he will miss the next match due to a card suspension.

In the Brazilian Serie A on Thursday night (April 2), Santos FC defeated Clube do Remo 2-0. Although Neymar did not score in the match, he played a key role in both goals.

In the 40th minute, a brilliant pass from Neymar led to a goal by teammate Thaciano. Later, in the 83rd minute, Neymar created an attack that resulted in the second goal scored by Gonzalo Escobar and Moises.

However, near the end of the match, in the 87th minute, Neymar received a yellow card for protesting a foul by the opponent, which will keep him out of the next match.

After the match, Neymar criticized the referee, Sávio Pereira Sampaio, saying that referees do not give proper respect to players and want to place themselves at the center of the match.

Looking ahead to the World Cup, Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti will announce the team on May 18. Neymar was aiming to prove himself in every match leading up to this crucial time, but the suspension will keep him out of the important upcoming match against CR Flamengo, currently ranked 13th in the league. This may affect Santos’ strategy and performance.
