The death toll has risen to 20 in the tragic crash of a Bangladesh Air Force training aircraft on the campus of Milestone School and College in the capital’s Uttara area. At least 171 injured individuals are currently receiving treatment at various hospitals in Dhaka. Among them, 25 are reported to be in critical condition.
According to a press release issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday evening, the injured are being treated at eight different hospitals in the city. The highest number of casualties occurred at CMH-Dhaka, where 12 people died and 17 were admitted with injuries. Additionally, 70 patients were admitted to the National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute, 60 to Uttara Modern Hospital, 11 to Lubana General Hospital, and several others to different hospitals.

Kurmitola General Hospital: 1 injured, 2 dead
Kuwait Maitree Hospital: 8 injured, no deaths
Uttara Crescent Hospital: 1 injured, no deaths
Based on an initial assessment of 88 patients, specialists have identified 25 as being in critical condition.
In response to the incident, the interim government has declared a one-day state mourning on Tuesday, 22 July. According to a statement from the Press Wing of the Chief Adviser, the national flag will be flown at half-mast at all government, semi-government, autonomous institutions, and educational establishments across the country. The flag will also be lowered at all private buildings and Bangladeshi missions abroad.
Furthermore, special prayers will be held in all religious institutions nationwide for the victims—both deceased and injured.
Authorities have already begun an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. The government and armed forces have pledged to stand by the victims and their families during this difficult time.
